Tattnall Elementary Soccer World Cup - Sign Up Now

Its time again for the "Tattnall Elementary Soccer World Cup" and we are looking forward to another great season. The season will begin Saturday, October 30th @ 10am with an orientation day for all players, parents and coaches. The season will finish December 11th with the World Cup Championship. Practice will be held one night a week on Monday or Tuesday and games will take place on Saturdays. Teams will be coached by parent coaches and assisted by Tattnall Varsity Players. The program is open to Tattnall and community players in grades K-5 through 6th, so encourage everyone to come out and participate.

TATTNALL SOCCER SUPPORTER SCARFS PRE-ORDER

At the last booster club meeting we discussed a new tradition we will be starting during the spring season with both the Boys & Girls soccer teams. To show our support for the teams we will be selling Tattnall Soccer Supporter Scarfs. These scarfs will be one of the ways we intend to create a unique Identity for our team.

Tattnall Soccer Booster Club Meeting - Recap

Thank you to all those that came to the booster club meeting on Tuesday. We talked over many things regarding ideas, expectations and needs for the upcoming spring season involving both the Girls and Boys teams.

Our main focus at the meeting was to talk about 4 "Actions Teams" / Committees that we would like parents and supporters to get involved with to tackle many of the items that need to addressed as we prepare for the spring season. The Action Teams are as follows.....

• Booster Club Committee - We created a hierarchy of positions which where filled as follows: Joel Stringer (President), Mike Bazemore (Vice President), Ron Hoppel (Secretary), Denise Leaptrot (Treasurer). This team will show support & direction for the soccer program and the other action teams.
  

• Supporters Club - This team will focus on "Branding" and ways to create support and a unique Identity for our teams. Our first idea is "Tattnall Soccer Supporters Scarfs".
  

• Facility Needs/Improvements - This team will focus on projects to help improve the field and needs of the program through priority. At the meeting coach Ratliff spoke about the situation with the wall being fixed and we viewed a list of other projects.
  

• Fund raising - This team will focus on ensuring we meet our quota for Tattnall Athletic Fund raising which is 1) Media guide ads 2) Discount Cards. The team will also help to create other soccer specific ways to help raise money for our program. One example idea was to have "Friends of Tattnall Soccer" donate based on a rewards program for goals scored and shutouts.
  

**We would like for every member in the Tattnall Soccer Program to help by joining on one of the above teams. Your time, effort and ideas collectively on these teams will help us achieve all that we need to as we prepare for the upcoming season**

Tattnall All-Star Alumni Game - Moved to Spring

Tattnall Soccer Alumni,

I hope you are well and are having a successful year thus far. I wanted to take an opportunity to explain a change within our soccer program that will effect the date and time of this years soccer alumni game.

Recently, the GISA passed the decision to move GISA Boys soccer to the spring. This now coincides with GISA Girls soccer that is currently played in the spring. With that said both our boys & girls teams will be playing spring soccer this school year.

Consequently, we will be moving the Tattnall All-Star Alumni Game to the spring time. The school has planned some other social/alumni events in the spring and our soccer game will take place the same weekend. I will let you know when that will be ASAP.

Tattnall Soccer Boys & Girls Parent Meeting

Parents,

Having now settled into the school year, we are scheduling a Tattnall Soccer parents meeting for everyone involved in the program. This meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 7th @ 6:30pm in the lunchroom.

This is very important as we begin to plan for the upcoming spring season involving both boys & girls teams. We would like to have at least 1 representative from every family involved in the soccer program to be present at the meeting.

The focus for the meeting will be....

• Discussing ideas to create positive changes of now having boys & girls soccer in the same season.

• Creating an action plan for the fall with regard to field, booster club & program improvements.
  
• Discus/Creating action committees for parents/players & coaches to be able to better serve actively within the program.
  

There is much to discuss and your support, thoughts & ideas are welcomed.

Summer pick-up games begin

The Tattnall Soccer Program will again be holding summer pick-up games on Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 5pm-6:30pm @ the Tattnall Soccer field.

The pick-up games will begin Tuesday, July 6th. We look forward to seeing you on the field!

2010 Tattnall Summer Soccer Camp

The 2010 Tattnall Summer Soccer Camp finished today after a very successful week. The camp ran from Monday, June 21st - Friday, June 25th. The camp consisted of almost 80 campers ranging from 1st-12th grade and all players worked extremely hard through out the week despite the exceedingly high temperatures.

The camp was specifically designed to develop the players technically, partnered with competitive small sided games.

The girls soccer banquet last night was a success. We had an extremely good turn out and was able to celebrate another season of Tattnall girls soccer.

Girls Soccer Banquet - Tuesday, May 18th

The Girls soccer banquet will be this Tuesday, May 18th @ 6pm.

We will now be catering the event & thus have moved the location of the dinner @ 6pm to the lunchroom. Following the dinner we will proceed to Trojan hall for the awards ceremony.

The dinner will be $8 per person. Money can be turned into Mrs Cheek in the office or pay on the night to Denise Leaptrot. All players meals will be covered by the soccer booster club.

Appropriate attire for the evening will be Sunday church dress.

Tattnall offering free sports physicals

On Tuesday, May 11th @ 5:30 in the Athletic Complex, Tattnall will be offering free sports physicals to anyone planning on playing a b-team/varsity sport for Tattnall next school year. Physical forms will be available on the Tattnall website.

I encourage all girls & boys soccer players to attend. This will save time prior to the soccer season and prevent anyone from missing the start of the season due to not having a physical completed.

Those planning on attending also plan on arriving early as all sports will be there and the lines can get quite long.

Senior Night changed to game vs John Milledge

Senior night has been changed from the game vs Deerfield on Tuesday, April 20th to the game vs John Milledge on Monday, April 26th 6:30pm.

This is due to the senior game always taking place on the last regular season home game of the season. With the original John Milledge game being cancelled earlier in the season, the rescheduled date of this game makes it our last regular season home game.

Tom Melville, Head coach of SCAD University (Savannah College of Art & Design) currently ranked #24 in the NAIA National Poll will be the Elite day camp instructor.

Max Rooke , Head coach of Tattnall Square Academy will be the Junior day camp Instructor.

Purpose
Purpose of camp is develop the players technical & tactical ability. The emphasis will be on technical/tactical instruction which will then be applied into competitive small sided games.

Coach Max Rooke completes first marathon

On March, 21st coach Max Rooke took part in the LA marathon. The event had 25,000 athletes participate. The 26.2 mile course took the runners through famous sites such as Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive and Sunset Blvd. The endurance race started at MLB Los Angeles Dodger stadium and finished at the beach in Santa Monica where the finish line was crossed by Coach Max Rooke in 3hrs 55mins.

B-Team Game Vs Deerfield Added to Schedule

On Tuesday, April 20th we will be hosting Deerfield Windsor. We have now added a b-team game to be played before the varsity game. Game times are now set for B-team 5pm / Varsity 6:30pm

**8th Grade will be away on a trip. With the current squad we have enough numbers to play the b-team game with just the 6/7th graders (any 8th graders not going on the trip will play as well). This will be a great opportunity for the players to gain some extra and much valued playing time**

Take I-75 South -Take the Georgia-Florida Parkway exit (Hwy 300) towards Albany -Turn right onto Georgia-Florida Parkway -Go approx 1.5 miles and take 19 Bypass North -Take the Nottingham exit and take a left -School is approximately 150 yards down on your left.

**Game Vs John Milledge CANCELED**

Due to the bad weather conditions we have had to cancel todays game Thursday, March 11th Tattnall V John Milledge @ Tattnall B-team 5pm / varsity 6:30pm.

The game will be rescheduled and I will let you know when that will be ASAP.

Both teams will have pictures today starting @ 2:45pm

B-team will not practice due to lack of indoor facility space. (Pictures & other varsity sports will be using gyms)

Varsity will practice after the picture for the cover of the program is shot around 4/4:15pm.

Varsity Vs Faculty All-Star Game

On Friday, March 5th the varsity took part in an event to kick-off the start of the girls soccer season. During a pep rally the Varsity girls played an indoor 6v6 game vs an All-Star faculty team consisting of the following players:

Mr Brandon, Mrs Adams, Coach Oxford, Mrs Hardy, Jody Burnett, Mrs Wallace, Coach Moore, Mrs Coleman, Mr Sherwood, Mrs Julie Jones, Mr Collins and the team was coached by Mr Whetsel.

It was a fun event watched by the middle & high school student body. The varsity came away with a 5-2 victory.

Picture Day Rescheduled - Wednesday & Thursday, March 10th & 11th

The picture day for the varsity girls soccer team has been moved to Thursday, March 11th. The pictures will be taken by Lee McDavid during the school day. Players will all have their uniforms because we play John Milledge (b-team 5 & varsity 6:30pm) that night.

The picture day for the b-team girls soccer team will still be Wednesday, March 10th. The pictures will also be taken during the school day. They will also practice after school.

I have picture money for some players and will hold onto it until then. Anyone else wanting a picture package can bring me the money or send it on the day of pictures. Packets are $25 and checks made payable to Lee McDavid

Pictures Canceled

Girls soccer pictures have been canceled for today. We will reschedule for Wednesday, March 10th

Picure Day Plans.....

If there is a break in the rain today, we will still have pictures at 3:30pm. If the rain sets and stays we will move pictures to Wednesday, March 10th. Baseball has theirs on the 10th as well so we will have pictures taken after baseball is done around 5pm.

**If pictures are canceled b-team will not practice. Varsity WILL practice**

Booster Club Meeting Rescheduled.

Due to the visitation for Chuck Fennell @ Macon Memorial Park from 6-8pm, the soccer booster club meeting has been rescheduled for Monday, March 1st @ 7pm in the P.E gym.

Please be on the look out for e-mails this week as we will get important information out regarding the upcoming season that needs to be communicated before next weeks meeting.
