Tattnall Soccer Family Member Passes

Tattnall soccer family member Chris Schoettler passed away Friday, December 19th after a car accident on Pate Rd. A fan of the worlds most popular sport, Tattnall Soccer announcer and father to soccer standout Matthew Schoettler, he will be missed dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with Matthew and his family at this time.

Tattnall Elementary Soccer World Cup comes to a close

The 2008 Tattnall Elementary soccer world cup came to an end on Saturday, December 13th with the world championship. The 6 lower division (1-3rd grade) & 6 upper division (4-6th grade) teams came into championship weekend with the dream of taking away with them the title of world cup champion!! After some extremely close games that saw 5 having to be decided on penalty kicks, the eventual winners where Spain (Lower) & Germany (Upper). Congratulations to all players and teams on a very successful season!!

K-5 - Team U.S.A
Lower division - Spain, Holland, Portugal, Italy, Sweden, Japan
Upper division - Germany, England, Switzerland, France, Brazil, Argenitina

Teams recognized at the end of season banquet

The b-team and varsity boys soccer teams ended their year in style at the boys soccer banquet held at Tattnall on Thursday, November 20th. Players, family & friends had a chance to socialize with dinner provided by Outback before heading to Trojan Hall for the awards ceremony. Notable highlights.....

Girls Soccer Receives National Academic Award

Girls Soccer Receives National Academic Award

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) recognized the 2007-2008 TSA Girls Soccer team for the NSCAA High School Team Academic Award. The award goes to teams across America that earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher (based on 4.0 scale). TSA produced a team cumulative GPA of 3.45 for the season.

Boys Soccer heads back to the final 4!!

Tattnall boys soccer capped off the 2008 season with a final 4 appearance in this years quest for the GISA AAA state championship. After beating Augusta Prep 2-0 in the quarter final, the team earned a semi-final appearance against eventual state champions Stratford Academy losing out 0-2. Congratulations on a successful season!!

Head Coach - Max Rooke

Max Rooke is a native of Reading, England and has been at Tattnall since 2003 as head coach of both the boys and girls soccer programs. In his time at Tattnall, Rooke has guided the boys team to 2 GISA State final four appearances in 2005 & 2008 and a GISA region 3 AAA championship in 2005. Rooke has also been recognized by his peers, being named the GISA region 3 AAA coach of the year in 2004 & 2005 as well as the GISA AAA State coach of the year in 2004. Living in Macon, Rooke played collegiate soccer at Mercer University before taking over the Tattnall soccer program. He currently holds his NSCAA Premier Coaching Diploma and is married to Mercer University head volleyball coach Noelle Rooke.
